multiple-award-winning investigative journalist and the author of two books on South Africa’s State Capture and corruption dynamics. His work counts among the foremost examples of
impact-yielding investigative journalism in South Africa’s recent history, including an unprecedented video “sting” operation that captured a top state official offering him a bribe to bury an upcoming story. Pieter-Louis’s investigations are embedded in the country’s political arena, making him an engaging speaker on topics ranging from government corruption, to business ethics, politics, law enforcement and justice, and the media.
His work includes:
- The books Gangster State (2019) and The Republic of Gupta (2017);
- Several contributions to the #GuptaLeaks project;
- The ongoing IDT/Tebogo Malaka investigations, including the infamous video “sting” project;
